This Watermelon Limeade is one of my favorite refreshing ways to cool down on a hot day. It’s super quick and easy, naturally sweet, and gives a fun tangy kick from the lime.

Watermelon Limeade Recipe

There’s nothing like a cold, sweet beverage to cool you down on those hot summer days – and this homemade, healthy, no-sugar-added watermelon limeade is just the thing! Watermelon, the classic symbol of summer, is delicious as-is, but when you get creative with it, there’s a whole new world of possibilities (grill it, add it to salsas, add it to your favorite margarita, or blend it into a delicious mocktail like this one!).

Lime and watermelon complement each other perfectly – which is why this recipe works so well! It’s sweet, tangy, and free from added sugars (but you can sweeten it with cane sugar, simple syrup, or agave syrup if desired). It’s one of my favorite cold drinks.

How to Make Watermelon Limeade

First, place all the watermelon cubes in a blender or food processor and process until smooth. Strain half of the watermelon juice through a fine mesh strainer or sieve over a large bowl or container. Discard the solids left over from that half. (You can strain the juice from the remaining watermelon cubes, too, if desired, but I like to keep some of the chunks of watermelon since that’s the healthiest part!)

Pour your watermelon juice into a large container and add lime juice and ice. Stir together until fully combined and taste. Add more fresh lime juice to taste and garnish with a lime wedge if desired.

How to Serve

Serve this watermelon limeade immediately over ice in a large pitcher. You can also blend it with ice to make a frozen slushie treat, freeze it into ice pops, or even use it as a watermelon cocktail mixer (try adding a splash of tequila or a shot of rum!). Try adding sparkling water to make a fun spritzer/healthy soda.

Storage and Freezing

This delicious beverage tastes best when you drink it immediately but will absolutely last in your fridge for up to three days. It should also keep in the freezer for up to two months (and can be enjoyed frozen or thawed back into limeade).

Ingredients

  • 8 cups watermelon, cubed
  • 2 cups water
  • cup fresh lime juice
  • Lime slices, for garnish
  • Fresh mint, for garnish
  • Ice
  • *No sugar?

Instructions

  • Place watermelon cubes in a blender and process until completely blended. Strain half of the juice through a fine mesh sieve over a large bowl or container and discard the solids left over (you can strain the second half of juice; however, I prefer to leave some of the solids since that is the healthiest part for you). Pour watermelon juice into a large container and pour in fresh lime juice, water and ice cubes. Stir together and taste. Add more fresh lime juice if needed.

Notes

*With a sweet enough watermelon, I found it sweet enough without additional sugar; but if you prefer a sweeter juice you can, of course, add sugar. Start with 1/4 cup, stir until sugar dissolves completely, and taste. Add more if needed.
