Since winter hasn’t hit California yet, we were lucky enough to take highway 395 and highway 120 (Tioga Pass) back home.
Although it added a couple extra hours to the drive, the views made it all worth it.
If you ever have a chance to take one, or both of these highways, do it!
Highway 395 offers amazing views of the Sierra Nevada mountains, including Mt. Whitney.
The Tioga Pass is the highest highway pass in California and in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It seems to always be closed due to heavy snow fall each year.
(it closed two days after we drove through)
From the Tioga Pass we entered Yosemite National Park.
Although we didn’t visit Yosemite Valley, we all enjoyed Yosemite from a different angle- one much less visited.
My second time in Yosemite, I was just as impressed by its splendor as the first.
